The Park Slalom event at Sandstone Skatepark will be under the lights on Thrusday evening, August 23, at the newly constructed Sandstone park site. There are bathrooms on site, and plenty of parking. This is an exciting event to watch. There is a $25 entry fee for anyone who wants to participate in this event and it is open to all skaters young and old.
The Giant Slalom venue is in rural Windsor, CO on E. Crossroads Blvd. near Hwy 287. There will be toilets on site, but there are no other services at this location. Please bring your own Food and Drink, chair, and shade. This event will highlight slalom racing at it’s fastest. Racers will be negotiating a course on a big hill at approx. 35 mph. Park at the bottom of the hill at E. Crossroads and New Liberty.
The Hybrid Slalom event will be on Bross St. in downtown Longmont. A good place to park for this event is at Thompson Park at 4th and Bross, one block West of the race site. In this race you will see racers thread through a course of about 50 cones over two blocks of this hill with tight and loose spacing. There will be toilets on site but no other services. This venue is about 3 blocks off Main St. We recommend you bring your own chair.
The Tight Slalom event is one of the most exciting to watch as racers will be making up to 4 turns per second as the fly through a course of cones that are set 5 to 6 feet apart on a generous hill. For an example of this see our History section.
